Ground Pounder

By Pickup Trucker

TRUCK NAME: Ground Pounder

MAKE: 1995 Dodge Club Cab (Truck built in 1994)

OWNER/DRIVER: Steve Woodard

TOWN/CITY: Ozark, AL

ENGINE SIZE: 472 cubic inch

INFORMATION: Owner & driver Steve Woodard, brought the Ground Pounder truck over to Europe, as a part of the American Monster Truck Thunder, World Tour !. The truck would have toured Europe for three months, visiting England, Germany, Holland & Belgium.
However after the first show, the show was cancelled. Above is a picture of the ground pounder at the London Arena. Also click on the links below to see pictures of the truck in Charlotte, NC, & London, England.
While doing some car crushing at the London Arena, for the local TV, a couple of days before the show, Steve Woodard, owner/driver put the truck up in the air & ripped the tailgate of the truck. At the one & only show, Steve really put his truck in the air. He won the freestyle, fastest time over the cars, but came second in the side by side racing, against Carolina Crusher.
Steve Woodard, has told me that even though he lost about thirty thousand dollars, which was never paid to him, he will be ok, & that it’s all part of the business!
In 1999 Steve sold his truck to Paul Shafer, who owns Monster Patrol, Bearfoot & a host of other Monster Trucks. Pual has since re-painted the truck. Steve is currently building a new Ground Pounder truck.
